Voting Genie is a trademarked, patented online software designed to help voters determine which candidates best align with their beliefs on the issues of today in an unbiased manner. Currently, it is licensed for use by Voting Genie LLC (a Super Pac) which restricts its usage to candidates for U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. It is available for licensing to other organizations who may wish to use it for State and Municipality elections.

Its purpose for being is that in this day and age of biased media, social media, disinformation, misinformation we lose sight of what really matters to us—the issues that affect us personally. Voting Genie was developed to rectify this. In practice, you choose from a series of multiple choice questions and written statements the answers that most closely align with your beliefs and at the end of this process are presented with the candidate who matches your answers most closely. In simplest terms, think of it as a dating site for find your best political match.

Voting Genie reaches out to every candidate on the ballot (at this point for candidates for U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate) asking for them to participate by taking the very same questionnaire you will take. Additionally, candidates are allowed to supply short, written statements to further explain their position on the issues. The questionnaires are sent via a Docusign document to ensure they reflect the legitimate answers for each candidate. Upon receipt of the candidates signed Docusign questionnaires, the candidates’ answers are then fed into Voting Genie’s database. Your choices are then matched up with each of the candidates’ choices who are running for office in your state or district and you are then presented with the candidate you match best with, as well as how closely you match with the other candidates.

As previously stated, the purpose of Voting Genie is to concentrate on the issues and to eliminate bias. The best way to do that is to start with the issues. There are other platforms out there that attempt to educate voters on the issues, but invariably they start out with the name of the candidate, the party of the candidate and a photo of the candidate. Voting Genie thinks these all have built in biases. For that reason, Voting Genie does not reveal which candidate best matches your values and interests until after you’ve completed the survey.

None. You can be completely anonymous. We do require you to supply the State and the Voting District you live in so that we can match you with the candidates you are eligible to vote for. If you want to keep the results Voting Genie supplies you at the end of the questionnaire, we do offer the option of creating an account. If you choose not to create an account, that is your right; however, in that case we will not save your results, nor will you be able to access them once you close the Voting Genie website (unless you take the questionnaire all over again.) The choice is yours.

If a candidate chooses not to fill in the questionnaire, then they will be displayed as “declined to participate.” We seek 100% participation from candidates and will reach out to all candidates on the ballot. This will be done through email with built-in tracking so that we can demonstrate that our email was received and whether it was read or not. While freedom of speech means there is no requirement for a candidate to participate, we do believe this begs the question of why they chose not to do so. It’s up to you to draw whatever inference you decide as to why a candidate might not want to inform you of their beliefs and values. We believe that elections are the only opportunity for most citizens to be the boss and hope you ask yourself “would you hire someone who declines to provide a resume?”

At this point, Voting Genie and Voting Genie LLC are self-funded. As a Super Pac we can receive donations from both individuals and corporations. It is hoped that Voting Genie LLC will receive donations sufficient enough to promote it in every state. However, no donation large or small will determine, or have any influence on where Voting Genie is promoted or which candidates are included or excluded.

That depends on how much time you put into making your choices. In our beta testing, it took an average of 15-20 minutes to complete. While this may seem long in this day and age of instant gratification, we believe that the mid-term elections of 2022 will have consequences, and that if you truly care about the direction America is going, then this is a small commitment to make on your behalf to ensure you vote for someone who truly best aligns with your beliefs and values.

At this time, Voting Genie is not available as a true app due to budget constraints. We do offer a mobile app emulator version of Voting Genie so that you can access it via a mobile screen icon. Once we start seeking donations, it is among our top priorities to create a true mobile app version of Voting Genie. (The other top priority once we start seeking donations is to promote Voting Genie so that it can reach the widest variety and number of voters.)
